About Me

I have been working as a freelance Illustrator since 1985, after graduating from Kingston Art College.

My predominant illustration style is humorous, in fact many of my images can be best described as cartoons. I have also illustrated subjects requiring a more serious style of artwork.

Originally I worked exclusively in line and wash, pen and ink drawings coloured in watercolour. Now I also create cartoons and illustrations digitally, using Photoshop, Illustrator and Painter. Sometimes I will scan a line drawing, and add colour on computer, sometimes the image will be produced entirely on screen. Of course I am still more than happy to create cartoons and illustrations, in my original watercolour style. My initial rough drawings, will usually be drawn in pencil, then scanned and delivered digitally.

The images on this site have been categorized according to style, ranging from simple black and white cartoon, drawings, to detailed digital illustrations.

I have worked for many and varied clients over the years creating humorous illustrations for all kinds of publications. Much of my work has been illustrating children's books, but I've also worked on illustrations for greetings cards, magazines and in advertising.

Whether you require a one off cartoon, a series of humorous pen and ink drawings, artwork painted in watercolour, or an illustration created on computer, I'm happy to discuss any job, large or small.

More recently, I have been writing and illustrating my own books, and have had two series of children’s novels published. I am always working on ideas for new book projects some of which are based on the illustrations you can see on my website. To find out more about my books visit the AUTHOR section of the site.
